I’m still kind of in shock that Marcus Intalex is gone, but a by-product of that is a chance to remember his work and life through his music. This was posted by the Sun & Bass Crew from Marcus’ live set with DRS from 2007. RIP Mr. Intalex.
Squirt, aka Aaron Wilkerson, was one of Dallas’ original junglists and one of the founding members of the 32 Degrees jungle crew (that I later joined) and was a huge influence on drum & bass culture in Dallas. Unfortunately he passed away on the 1st of April after a short illness. Squirt was talented, hilarious, […]
dBridge is, in my mind, the most prolific artist in Drum and Bass right now. His label, Exit, has quietly risen to the top of the game by pushing boundaries and blurring lines between all the genres. It’s spurring the creation of music while also continuing to grow and nourish additional exploration. This is allowing […]
Bill Bradley’s Devious Mix is chock full of classic jungle and ragga dubs from years gone by that were cut by Houston’s DVS1. These dubs took a pretty circuitous route from their original home to Bill’s decks, but it turned into a pretty sick mix.
Longtime friend of most of us here at SB and all around monster on the decks Dieselboy has dropped a sequel to the beast mix The Destroyer. 138 tracks clocking in at around 2 hours. Getcha Pull !!!!! Tracklist: Dieselboy feat Jordana Rothman – Extinction Event (Feature Presentation) Zero Method – Spotcrime // RED […]
My old Texas drum & bass buddy, Clynt B aka Sinewave, took time out of being a 41 year old father of two to drop a new mix last week. He’s still got his juice, so expect an ultra technical blend of solid tunes. A perfect Monday kickstarter.
My son usually gets me up around 5am local time, so my ritual is to immediately hop on Twitterk, get caught up on events, and allow my brain to start cranking. This morning’s tweet session was most fortuitous for myself and the blog… I immediately saw some terse tweets from one of our favorite producers/DJs, […]
LSB and DRS combined their super powers, alongside Tyler Daley, on last year’s massive tune from D’s album, The View. This year they’re headed out on a Japanese invasion and they’ve been kind enough to rock a promo mix for the tour.
One of my favorite producers/DJs has just had his live mix from Fabric put up by Med School Music. Anile, he of the 9pm bedtime crew, rolls out some heavy hitting choons with Inja handling mic duties. Steady Friday listening, seen? Oh yea, Anile’s Allergens EP is available for pre-order too, so get you some […]
I was digging through an old hard drive last night and came upon this mixtape that I ripped as part of my cassette mixing project from a few years ago. Ed Rush – Live in 98 was a tape I picked up from a discount bin at a used CD store in Dallas. The tape […]
