With over 10 years of production experience, Artificial Intelligence (A.I) can be considered experienced veterans of the genre. Featuring releases across multiple labels including V, Shogun, Exit and Metalheadz. It’s with the latter of those labels that the pair are set to release their latest LP Timeline.
It’s been a strong year for A.I on Metalheadz and this album continues the sounds heard on their previous EP (Forgotten Truths) and the single Dillirious.
Timeline features multiple guest vocalists, with familiar names like Steo and DRS appearing alongside newer names such as Sense and Dawn Wall. With all providing an excellent base for their respective tracks. In particular the track Justify feat Terri Walker stands out as one that is likely to see a very large amount of air play.
A word of warning though, don’t be fooled into thinking this is just a vocal album that plays out with a friendly, upbeat vibe. It features a few tracks that have some real bite, hidden away within it. In particular, watch out for Untitled Ghost and Heaven Sent which both feel like they could only have been released on ‘Headz, with a number of characteristics many fans will be familiar with.
Having given the album a few listens now, I really got the impression that their was a real desire by the pair to show their versatility. All 15 track need to be given a fair chance and it’s likely that you will hear most of these tracks within DJ sets for the coming months.
[Editor’s Additional Opinion: To me an album should tell a story, and I think A.I. have done that. Time Out is a really strong opening track. Sets the mood for the entire LP and helps tell the aforementioned story.]
Artificial Intelligence – Timeline LP – Pre-Order NOW – Out 20th November
I’m sad to say that I only discovered this track with Scar post review. It’s from one of the sampler’s for the album and it’s an absolute monster that could be my favourite out of them all.
