My buddy, Lexi, recently discovered Canadian DJ and producer Ben Sage and has had trouble locating more of his tracks and sets. Sage had a short, but memorable few moments in the drum & bass spotlight back in the early aughts with a string of releases, chiefly, Sleepless on Magic Vinyl in 2003.
Sage was a DJ first and foremost, so there are quite a few of his studio mixes floating around out there and I happened to have two of them in my archives. I’d estimate they’re from 02-03 or thereabouts. While digging up info on Ben, I also came across another mix someone else uploaded to Soundcloud and I’ve shared that too.
I used to chat with him a few years back on MIRC. I remember doing a music video to one of his tracks “Busted Mouse” while I was in college. Always loved that one.
