A Plethora of SXSW House & Techno

SXSW is underway in Austin so every club, event venue, alley, and parking lot is full of various types of music. If you’re a music lover then I’d challenge anyone to find a better spot to feed that love.

This year’s line-ups are full of house and techno so we’re going to post several sets from various DJs and labels that are showcasing this year.

First up it’s Nick Olivetti’s Dirtybird Players mix for Data Transmission UK. Dirtybird has a showcase tonight at Kingdom which should be jam packed. Claude Von Stroke and Justin Martin should both be in the house.

Boiler Room has also setup shop in an undisclosed warehouse somewhere downtown for their showcase event. Here’s one of their most requested sets from the last few years, Nina Kravitz.

Derrick Carter is also playing Kingdom on Saturday for Beatport’s showcase. Here’s a little house music flair from Mr. Carter that’s a few years old, but still banging.

The indomitable Richie Hawtin is also playing a few shows around town including the closing session for SXSW Interactive yesterday with Deadmau5 regarding the state of techno. He’s also playing at the CNTRL: Beyond EDM show tonight. Here’s his classic 1995 Plastickman mix from Mixmag Live (Vol. 20)
