Virtual 3D Audio

The recordings below are “virtual 3D” audio experiments from a man in Perth, Australia using the pseudonym Pogo. I know nothing about Pogo (aka Nick Berthke) or his music beyond the tracks on his Soundcloud page, but I thought the snippets were rather unique. I know that surround sound has been around for ages, but typically it takes several strategically placed speakers to produce the same effect and isn’t quite as full (for lack of a better word) as these recordings seem to be.

From the Upular SC page:
“A virtual 3D recording of my track ‘Upular’ playing through a pair of club speakers as you walk around the venue. Someone requested this and I thought it was a good idea. Enjoy.”

Pogo suggests using earbuds to get the full effect of the 3D audio, but my over-the-ear Sennheisers worked like a charm. ‘Upular’ (Virtual 3D) by PogoMix Chill Beat (Virtual 3D) by PogoMix Studio Walkaround (Virtual 3D) by PogoMix Lion’s Den (Virtual 3D) by PogoMix
