The night isn’t memorable for their set, the venue, or the time of year. No, it’s remembered by the people that were there as the night I went to jail for “Operating an Illegal Dancehall,” a Class-C misdemeanor in Dallas County, which is equivalent to a speeding ticket. I’m not sure why I was the guy picked to go to jail but, because of that, Konflict never played and we were out $4401 (which we’ve yet to get back).

Fast forward to a year later, and we somehow managed to talk Kemal into coming back to Dallas to play a set at Trees.
