Here’s a collection of free music from various genres and a multitude of producers from the last few months. As always, you can click the little down arrow on each Soundcloud waveform to download the MP3.

Here’s Ill-esha’s “lovestep” edit of The Weeknd’s XO/The Host tune. I like the two-step break vibe of this and it’s more uptempo than the original, which isn’t one of my favorite cuts on the new album.

This is a drum-less, piano driven orchestral version of MJ Cole’s Red & Black. Rather out of the ordinary, but very nice. It’d make an awesome intro/outro to a mix.

I’ve mentioned the Decades duo on SB before because their Mo’Wax mix was awesome. They also do a ton of edits and reworks of more popular fare. This one is a snappy version of Ghostface Killah’s “Apollo Kids.”

“Like A Circle” is all over the place tempo wise. Bay B Kane lists it as downtempo jungle, but that seems kind of oxymoronic. It starts out on a very atmospheric vibe for a long time then drops into an amen for the last half. Different styles for sure.

Damn it was a hot summer. Combination of the CARTE BLANCHE REVUE tour and BUSY P+DJ MEHDI adventures kept me on the road almost non-stop since June and lack of updates here or there can attest.

Nevertheless, in partnership with the good blokes at TSUGI MAGAZINE, I have the pleasure to offer you this new SUMMER MIXTAPE, mixed live at Paris Social Club in August.

Former Shamen frontman, and jack of all musical trades, Mr. C has released this mix for his Superfreq gigs in the UK. There’s a lengthy interview on Fabric’s website about his current musical tastes, his history in the EDM scene, and a list of his favorite tunes from the early 90s (including youtube links). The mix is almost exclusively tech house with very light smattering of techno.

Japanese producer Makoto is an all-time fave for me. His early releases on Good Looking/Looking Good like Golden Girl, Time and Butterfly are still in my standard listening rotation 10 years after their release. Not to slip into hyperbole (even though I will), but the man is a freaking genius. Anyway, while browsing through some recent tracks on Soundcloud I found a 4×4 house/techno mix he did last month. It’s pretty mellow stuff, but has a nice bump to it and its good summer listening.

One of the best people I met during my years of promoting in Dallas was Emma Feline. She’s a great, genuine person and was one of our most popular guest DJ’s. Back in the early 00′s she was big in the UK Garage scene with a massive Twice As Nice mix and records under the monikers of Fierce & Funky and London’s Most Wanted. She took some time off and has returned to play soulful deep house at Decks In The City in London.

I’ve been jamming this mix since it came out a few weeks ago and I wanted to showcase it on the site. It’s a lot of the aforementioned deep house mixed with some older joints from yesteryear….a perfect morning work mix.
